Acid Stained Patio in Roswell

Project Details
This Roswell homeowner near Roswell Area Park wanted their expansive covered patio to feel like a natural extension of the wooded backyard landscape. Plain gray concrete simply did not match the warmth of the surrounding mature hardwoods and stone retaining walls.
We prepared the surface with a thorough pressure wash and mechanical scarification to ensure proper acid penetration. Two reactive acid stain colors, an English Red base and a Cola accent, were applied in alternating layers and allowed to react chemically with the lime content in the concrete. The reaction creates unique, unrepeatable veining patterns that mimic natural stone.
After neutralizing and rinsing the acid residue, we sealed the patio with a UV-stable matte sealer that protects against Georgia’s intense summer sun without adding unwanted gloss. The finished surface has an earthy, leather-toned warmth that blends seamlessly with the outdoor kitchen area and adjacent firepit.
