Why Basements Are Different
Every concrete slab transmits some water vapor. Basement slabs, sitting below grade and in contact with soil moisture, transmit more. If a coating is applied without addressing vapor levels first, the moisture pushes up through the concrete, breaks the bond, and the coating blisters, bubbles, and peels.
